I usually just drop a thank-you if someone chooses a picture of mine, even if I've thanked them before.  So, although I won't do it every time, I will if I have an extra comment to make (as with this last time, if I remember).  I tend not to acknowledge a deviant if I really don't like the look of some of the other stuff in their collection (wrong kind of deviant!), and I don't want to engage in any kind of dialogue.  As for your drawing, you'll come back round to it when it's right.  I have a friend, I've known him for forty years, and he was a very good artist, but sometimes he wouldn't draw for months and months, and then he'd pick it up again like he'd never left off.  I think he still draws now, but very little.
